GMC Terrain to Make Big Impact   by Joe Kent

GM vehicles have long been synonymous with badge engineering. This may be most obvious when comparing Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUVs, which are more often than not identical aside from the badging. But with the 2010 GMC Terrain, GM may be putting a little more effort into differentiating its GMC lineup, particularly since there are fewer GM brands to supply design and engineering resources to.

Although the same chassis and components that reside in the 2010 GMC Terrain are also shared by the Chevrolet Equinox, customers at Birmingham Buick GMC believe that the styling of this new vehicle doesn’t give that fact away. The styling is a bit more masculine, with bulging fenders and an oversized grille up front, but the lines aren’t overwhelming utilitarian overall.

Inside the 2010 GMC Terrain the story is a bit different. The dash and materials resemble the Chevrolet Equinox closely, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Both vehicles show a new level of maturity and quality in GM build and design. Controls are placed throughout the dash and center console wisely and materials are of much better quality than previous GMC SUVs in recent years.

Buyers considering the 2010 GMC Terrain among Midland MI GM dealers have plenty of options, including a choice of either two wheel drive or all-wheel drive, or a choice of either a four cylinder or six cylinder engines. All powertains are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and features direct injection to maximize power fuel efficiency says Auto Repair Wallingford. There are also plenty of interior choices as well including an array of technology and safety features.

Unlike previous GMC SUVs, the 2010 GMC Terrain stands out from its Chevrolet relative. But where similarities do persist, it’s actually made a positive impact according to Clermont Chevrolet customers. Priced from $24,995, the 2010 Terrain is priced right in the heart of the competition, which includes the Ford Edge, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Nissan Murano to name just a few. With distinctive styling, ample power, and unique features such as a rear view camera, ambient lighting, and a USB input, this latest SUV shows that GMC is traversing the right terrain.
